Rotary encoder as the feedback device is used in the closed-loop system to control the speed and / or position in the world, and it plays an important role in maintaining the smooth and accurate operation of the equipment. Open loop and closed loop


Many applications run open loops and many operating closed loops. In open-loop systems, the operation can be controlled; in closed loop systems, the control process. The difference is feedback.That means the difference is the encoder.

 

In the closed loop system, the feedback signal is sent back to the control, and if the operation is successful, the relay is carried out.

 

Open loop system is a signal from the control signal to the motor process. An example of open-loop systems is that a motor is used in a garbage sorting application, and everything goes as expected, as long as the motor can pick up and place parts in the proper bin. However, if, for some reason, mechanical congestion and motor can not be moved, the control does not know the situation, and will continue to send basically ignored commands, so the part is not sorted.

 

In a closed loop system, the signal is passed from the control device to the motor, as described above, but the difference is that there is another signal, a feedback signal, which returns the control, thus informing the successful control. If the feedback notifies the control operation to fail, the control can notify the operator that the process is not completed correctly. Closed loop systems use feedback of speed / position information and process control in many applications.

 

There are a variety of devices in the market that can be used to obtain information about the speed and / or location of the application, so as to control and ensure that the process occurs correctly. These include tachometer, Holzer sensor, encoder, and resolver.
